The Prostate Cancer Society of Malaysia (PCSM) is a non-governmental organisation which aims to provide support, education and lifestyle changes to prostate cancer survivors and caregivers. It is the sole platform for prostate cancer survivors in Malaysia to share their thoughts, feelings and experience with one another and also with newly diagnosed patients so that they can continue to lead a normal, healthy lifestyle.
PCSM also organize on their own as well as in collaboration with professional bodies to conduct public forums, lectures, sport events and prostate cancer awareness campaign aimed especially for men above 50 years old about the benefits of early detection and other information regarding prostate cancer. Early detection is crucial to improve quality of life and reduce mortality rates.
PCSM facilitates prostate cancer support groups meetings in the major hospitals and presently they have a total of 11 nationwide including in East Malaysia.
PCSM is also supported by Malaysian Urological Association where all the country’s urologists are registered.
